John Pelan is the Director of the Scottish Council on Archives. John has worked in the culture and heritage sectors in Scotland for several decades including as the Director of the Scottish Civic Trust and he has held senior positions with the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland. John is passionate about archives and the role they have in fostering a sense of identity and engagement with the past.
