This one-day course will support archive services to use the Archive Service Accreditation Standard and guidance to develop their services. Archive Service Accreditation help archives to manage and improve their efficiency and effectiveness. It supports a long-term service development process whether you are looking to achieve accredited archive status or not. Whether you intend to apply for accreditation in the next six months, three years, or have no plans to do so at all, this workshop will explore how the standards and guidance of accreditation can help you to improve your own service and develop robust policies.
The course will provide delegates with the opportunity to explore how they might use the Standard and associated resources to plan and develop services and potentially secure Accredited Archive Service status. We will hear from archive professionals about their experiences of using the Standard to create a new service and to achieve Accredited Archive Service status. Delegates will also develop an understanding of where they already achieve the standard, the supporting evidence that is in place and what the next development steps are.
