Dundee Disaster Group

The Dundee Disaster Group is a network of archivists, curators, conservators and heritage professionals who are willing to offer expertise support and advice should a disaster occur in any of the member repositories.

The Group is coordinated by University of Dundee Archive Services and is currently comprised of Dundee based repositories and three members in Perthshire. There is no defined expectation of Group members, and it is understood that capacity to assist can differ throughout the year. Should an emergency occur, support and advice can include anything from a hands-on on-site approach, providing extra disaster kit materials to sharing expertise knowledge via email.

Members of the Group collaborated to fund a full day training event facilitated by Harwell Restoration and hosted by University of Dundee in 2024. The members are contacted annually to review their position and capacity to remain in the Group. If you would like more information or would like to join the Group please contact archives@dundee.ac.uk
