Edinburgh Collections Response Network

The Edinburgh Collections Response Network (ECRN) is a collaborative network of conservators, curators, archivists, librarians, security and collections staff from heritage organisations across Edinburgh, ranging from national institutions to businesses.

Since 2015 it has provided a local forum for knowledge sharing, communication, training and mutual support in the event of a significant collections emergency response situation. There is an annual meeting chaired by members in turn, most recently online. The aims of the network are to:

• Share good practice, procedures and policies
• Provide a platform to discuss current and emerging issues
• Promote collaboration and partnership working
• Support training events
• Develop and maintain a list of equipment/staff expertise across local organisations
