SCA Director, John Pelan, recommends an excellent article by Louise Williams, archivist at Lothian Health Services Archive in the latest edition of Scottish Archives, the Journal of the Scottish Records Association, making the case for investment in records management. Without skilled professionals and properly resourced archives, society risks repeating mistakes, denying justice, and eroding public trust. The Infected Blood Inquiry should serve as a powerful reminder: records matter, and managing them well is a public good.
