The aim of the new CAHG Scotland is to create a self-sustaining network of community archive groups within Scotland, committed to a vision and ethos of collaboration and mutual support.  The Archives and Records Association UK and Ireland (ARA) will support this specialist Community Archives and Heritage Group, including the 1,800 community groups currently registered within CAHG.

CAHG Scotland will listen to and deliver outcomes for communities and heritage organisations based in Scotland, celebrating and highlighting its diversity.  This will embrace sharing and provide knowledge, training and best practice whilst supporting and advocating on behalf of community archives and heritage groups.
