Join Janice Tullock for our latest webinar on collections development.
To even think about deaccessioning and disposing of archival material can be a difficult task for record-keepers committed to preserving material. However, so many collections include material that would not be collected today or has little evidential value.
In this session we will explore why policy, plans and procedures should be developed to cover deaccessioning and disposal. We will discuss the risks of improper disposal, principles you could follow to make decisions and practical advice on procedures. Finally we will look at the options for disposal and how to build these into your policies and procedures. The session will provide the chance to discuss the subject with other colleagues, as well as hear about specific projects.
