The Covid-19 pandemic is having an unprecedented impact on all aspects of the lives of people across the globe. In these challenging and historic times, the record keeping community is acutely aware of the importance of capturing and preserving a record of this rapidly evolving situation.
In a few short months, we’ve seen a vast array of imaginative and engaging collecting projects emerge, alongside new challenges. SCA are pleased to invite delegates to join us for presentations from speakers discussing collecting in the Covid-19 context. Members of SCA are also invited to stay for the proceeding Annual Members’ Meeting (12:30-13:00).

11:20 – 11:35 | Wiebke McGhee, Archivist, North Lanarkshire Archives – Wiebke will discuss collecting priorities in a Local Authority context. |
11:35 – 11:50 | Jaime Valentine, Chair, & Dom Miller-Graham, Researcher, OurStory Scotland – Jaime and Dom will speak about the Queer Distance project, which enables and encourages the collection of stories of the LGBTQ+ community in Scotland during the Covid-19 pandemic. |
11:50 – 12:05 | Clare Paterson, Archivist, University of Glasgow Archives – Clare will discuss Glasgow University’s approach to Covid-19 collecting, highlighting common themes across university archives and special collections. |
