As part of LGBTQ+ History Month, this February the Scottish Council on Archives (SCA) invites archivists and records managers from across Scotland to highlight collections or items that reflect queer lives and experience. On 27 February, working with our friends at the Queer Heritage and Collections Network (QHCN), these items will be celebrated across social media, and illustrate the diverse stories in our collections.
Items could include the papers of individuals, activist groups, publications or places that are important to LGBTQ+ communities, or just fleeting mentions in older records that possibly reveal queer lives of the past, often in painful ways. We also want to celebrate the fantastic range of outreach and engagement projects that archive services have undertaken with LGBTQ+ communities.
To take part, please complete and return this short form by 24 February 2023.
This project has been made possible in part thanks to the Queer Heritage and Collections Network, supported by National Lottery Heritage Fund.
