Archives Accreditation Survey 2019

Archives Accreditation Survey 2019

We want to know what your thoughts and impressions of the Archives Accreditation programmes, as it enters its fifth year.

1 March 2019

The Archive Service Accreditation programme is now into its fifth year. The joint Scottish assessor bodies, Scottish Council on Archives and National Records of Scotland, want to know your thoughts on how we can best support services in working toward accredited status. We have created a comprehensive survey to collect your opinion and impression of the scheme, and to assist our own planning.

Nine Scottish services have achieved accredited status. We want to ensure that the appropriate assistance and support is in place to help more Scottish services attain accreditation. We are keen to understand the context and challenges of preparing for the programme, and want to hear from services at all stages of consideration, from those preparing to apply, those who are working toward applying, and especially from services who are unsure if they’re in a position to get started.

SCA will be running a training workshop on 23 May 2019 at the Mitchell Library, Glasgow, with Janice Tullock, and we want to ensure that this will be useful and pertinent. Working with NRS, we will also be developing further guidance and training to support applicants throughout the process.

The survey is available here, and is open until 4 April 2019. The survey shouldn’t take too long to complete, and we would really appreciate you taking a bit of time to give us your feedback.
