Make Your Mark Launches a New Portal for Vounteering

18 June 2022

Make Your Mark has just launched a new portal which aims to increase the number and diversity of heritage volunteers in Scotland.

For volunteers, Make Your Mark is a volunteering portal that will connect you with organisations that care for Scotland’s places, history and culture. By volunteering, you can discover Scotland’s stories, care for local places, connect with likeminded people, learn new skills, network with staff and get behind-the-scenes access. Make Your Mark member organisations are committed to inclusive volunteering and have undergone the proper procedures to welcome you back safely.

For Scottish heritage organisations, Make Your Mark will promote volunteering opportunities to underrepresented audiences, connect heritage volunteer coordinators nationwide, share inclusive volunteering practice and evidence volunteering impact to lobby for more funding for heritage volunteering programmes. To find out how to get involved, visit their website.

There is an exciting range of possible volunteer roles, including: helping out at events, welcoming visitors, tour guiding, creating digital and social media content, maintaining library records, gardening and supporting ranger services. Keep an eye out for upcoming archives opportunities!
