In late 2024, the Scottish Council on Archives (SCA) launched a working group to look at the issue of deposited/long-term loaned collections (that is, collections held but not owned by a repository). The working group has representation from national organisations (including National Records of Scotland and National Library of Scotland), sector groups (including SUSGAC, ASLAWG, BACS), and private or specialist collections (including SACHA).

The working group is keen to understand the extent and management of deposited collections across Scotland, and to explore what guidance can be developed to support archive services; a short survey has been created and we would be grateful if you could please complete this.
