Learn about sources of funding for the preservation and conservation of your collections
SCA is hosting a short session on Teams for those interested in learning more about how to access funding for the preservation and conservation of collections.
This will be an opportunity to learn about grants and National Manuscripts Conservation Trust (NMCT) funding streams available as well as advice on how to increase your chances of accessing funding. There will be a question and answer session where you will have the chance to get guidance directly from funders, and also short presentations from successful past applicants. Please come prepared with any questions or upcoming plans you might have to submit a funding proposal.
SCA and NMCT established a funding partnership to support the conservation of Scottish archive collections in 2019. With generous support from National Records of Scotland, the funding scheme has enabled Scottish archives and other eligible institutions to apply for grants towards the cost of a manuscript conservation project. Successful applicants include East Lothian Council Archives, Tasglann nan Eilean, HMS Unicorn, Paisley Museum, and, most recently, The Highlanders’ Museum.
Applications are particularly welcomed from collections who have not previously applied to NMCT. You can find out more about NMCT and their work in their latest Annual Report.
