Join Janice Tullock for the second in a series of three webinars exploring Collections Development.

Collections Development is a significant part of the overall management of an archival collection, but one which is often overlooked or perceived as less important than the immediate priorities of collection care. It helps organisations to analyse and prioritise its collecting and articulate the mechanisms to identify and fill gaps, as well as reviewing and deaccessioning material.

In this practical series we will look at Collections Development, explore its role for the archive service and examine some of the ideas and tools available to support this work. Using a mix of presentation, discussion and Q and A we will provide an overview of the subject, aiming to particularly support applicants for Archive Service Accreditation.

There will also be an opportunity to participate in follow up discussions with colleagues from accredited archive services, with a focus on sharing experiences of their approach to collections development in the context of working toward and applying for Archive Service Accreditation.
