Dene was born on Ness on the Isle of Lewis and now lives on Point, Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis where she volunteered as part of the Point and Sandwick delivery meal service. This was a social enterprise which delivered 3 meals a day to the vulnerable members of the community, with over 260 households benefitting from the service. In her interview, Dene introduces herself in Gaelic before going onto discuss her experience of lockdown, the impact it had on the frequency of her family visits and the community spirit of her local area.
