Chris is a HM Coastguard Search and Rescue Helicopter Pilot who now lives on the Isle of Lewis with his wife and three young children. In his interview Chris discusses the vital work carried out by him and his fellow crew members during lockdown from carrying covid positive patients from islands around the Hebrides to the relevant hospitals as well as the challenges of an increase in ‘staycation’ adventurous holiday makers who run into trouble in isolated areas and need emergency assistance. His interview provides a fascinating insight into some of the key frontline workers which were at the heart of the Hebridean Covid19 response. He also shares some personal challenges of lockdown and describes the positive changes he and his family have experienced since moving to Lewis.
