National Records of Scotland is Scotland’s national archive. It holds records dating from the 12th century to the present day including an extensive collection of maps, plans and technical drawings. Its main collections are the records of Scottish government, records created by courts of law, churches, businesses, landed estates and other corporate bodies, registers of births, deaths, marriages, divorces, civil partnerships, dissolutions and adoptions, and Scottish census records.
