In 2015, Scottish Council on Archives convened a Collecting Policy Working Group to explore issues related to collecting in archives across Scotland. Following a sectoral consultation, a Collecting Policy Framework has been developed. The purpose of the framework is to encourage the exchange of information and best practice in relation to collecting and collections development.
SCA is pleased to be launching A Collecting Policy Framework for Scotland’s Archives on 5 September 2019 at a half-day event featuring varied talks on topics including crowdfunding to open up collections, crisis management for business archives and collecting within the context of university, local authority and national collections. This will be a networking and information sharing opportunity for archive services and any institution collecting archive material.

The SCA Sixth Annual Members Meeting will follow on immediately from this event, running from 12:00-12:30. All SCA members are invited to stay on for it and lunch.
