Copyright
Issues surrounding copyright law and related rights are of relevance to archivists and the cultural heritage sector worldwide. It is essential to fully understand the copyright landscape and remain informed about changes to the law. We are committed to developing a sector-wide approach, to learn from the experiences of others and avoid duplicating time-consuming copyright research.
SCA has collaborated with CREATe to deliver freely accessible online copyright guidance. The Council is also the only UK-based accredited member organisation of the World Intellectual Property Organisation’s (WIPO) Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR). SCA also delivers capacity building copyright workshops for archivists and community archive groups, including our recent Understanding Copyright webinar series with Dr Ellie Pridgeon.
