Following the meeting, a half-day study day on textiles in the archives was organised. We were delighted to be joined by four speakers with extensive knowledge and detailed insight of cataloguing, storing and conserving textiles:

  • Victoria Woodcock, Harris Tweed Project archivist
  • Sam Maddra, University of Glasgow assistant archivist
  • Helen Taylor, Heriot Watt University archivist
  • Anita Quye, Senior Lecturer, Conservation Science, Centre for Textile Conservation and Technical Art History, University of Glasgow

It proved to be a full and interesting event, and provided attendees with a richer understanding of items in their own collections.
